(Tuesday, June 19, 2018) Guam Regional Medical City welcomes Dr. Phillip Tutnauer, D.P.M., who joins the hospital’s list of providers as an in-house podiatrist. Tutnauer, who comes to Guam from New Jersey where he practiced for over 25 years, will be part of GRMC’s growing Specialty Clinics.
Dr. Tutnauer is skilled in treating all phases of Podiatry, including foot and ankle injuries, fractures, sports injuries, arthritic issues, fungal issues and diabetic foot care, the latter two being prevalent on Guam. He also treats pediatric foot issues. Tutnauer has a special interest in evaluating and treating patients with custom fabricated orthotics, or foot supports like splints and braces, preventing falls for the elderly especially as it relates to balance issues.
“Dr. Tutnauer’s services literally gives us boots on the ground in achieving our mission to treat our patients from head to toe. Having happy feet is generally undervalued until it is compromised. In addition to his expertise in complex cases, preventative care will be his focus. At GRMC, we embrace standard recommendations for all diabetics to have, at minimum, an annual foot exam,” said Dr. Felix T. Cabrera, Chief Medical Officer.
