GLID CENTER GUAM

GRMC Lung and Infectious Disease (GLID) Center was established in 2022 as Guam’s first hybrid Specialty Center to address the island’s need for comprehensive Respiratory and Infectious Disease care.

Michele Yamamoto, MD

Dr. Michele Yamamoto is a specialist in Infectious Diseases. She came to Guam in 2016 after completing a Clinical Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She served her residency at the Memorial hospital of Rhode Island, Brown University and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. 

Dr. Yamamoto specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS and infections in the immunocompromised host. She works closely with the Guam DPH Tuberculosis program in the diagnosis and treatment of active Tuberculosis cases. 

Dr. Yamamoto is double-Board Certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She also serves as GRMC’s head of Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Control Program.
