Dr. Michele Yamamoto is a specialist in Infectious Diseases.
She joined GRMC upon completing a Clinical Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Dr. Yamamoto served her residency at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Brown University, and was awarded Intern of the Year in 2011. She graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.
Dr. Yamamoto specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, and infections in the immunocompromised host. She established and continues to run GRMC’s Outpatient Antimicrobial Program Therapy (OPAT) as well as the viral Hepatitis Clinic.
Dr. Yamamoto is double-Board Certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, the Philippines, and Guam. Dr. Yamamoto also serves as GRMC’s head of Antimicrobial Stewardship.
