GRMC voted “Best Off-Base Medical Services in the Pacific” for its 2nd consecutive year by Stars & Stripes

(Tuesday, May 2, 2023; Dededo, Guam) Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) was recently awarded “2023 Best Off-Base Medical Service in the Pacific” by Stars and Stripes newspaper. This marks the 2^nd year in a row that GRMC received this award.

Douglas Johnson, an executive from the Stars and Stripes Pacific Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, recentlyvisited GRMC to present the award to the entire GRMC Executive team (photographed left to right): Executive Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer, Ted Constantino; Senior Vice-President/Chief Human Resources Officer, Charlotte Huntsman; Senior Vice-President/Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Alexander “Beau” Wielaard; President & CEO, Alan Funtanilla; Vice-President of Marketing & Business Development, Eric Plinske; Senior Vice-President/Chief Nursing Officer Jennifer Cruz; and Vice-President of Support Services, Bernie Lobaton.

According to their website, the Stars and Stripes is a multimedia news bureau that aims to provide first-hand reporting on news and information worldwide to the U.S. military community, including service members, civilians, veterans, contractors, and their families. Stars and Stripes Pacific annually polls members of military communities throughout the Pacific on the best local facilities, services, and destinations on and off base. The annual poll results, titled “Best in the Pacific,” are then shared with daily edition subscribers and U.S. military bases throughout the Pacific.
