Dr. Williams has been a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians since 2017. He also holds several certifications from the American Heart Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. James William is an Emergency Medicine Physician who joined GRMC in November 2022. Prior to his arrival on Guam, he served in California as a Physician Specialist at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he completed his residency in 2021. Concurrently, Dr. Williams served as an Emergency Physician at Pioneers Medical Hospital.
Dr. Williams earned his medical degree from New York University (NYU), School of Medicine in 2017. Throughout his academic career, Dr. William enjoyed tutoring and engaging in community work with organizations like, Wellbody Alliance, Brothers & Sisters in Science, and Reach Out to Kids, and was involved with multiple organizations at NYU. He was also inducted into the prestigious Gold Humanism Honor Society a year before completing his residency.
With his years of experience in research and writing, Dr. Williams has written and co-authored chapters for multiple publications, such as the Myths in Emergency Medicine, Volume 1, Emergency Medicine Board Review, and EMRA Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fundamentals. In 2015, he was awarded “Outstanding Student in Population Health Research”. Subsequently, he earned the “Dr. Saul J. Farber Student Research in Public Health Award” in 2017, and “Top Papers in Social Emergency Medicine” in 2018. Additionally, Dr. Williams received the “Clinical Excellence Award” in 2020 by the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association.
