Dr. Theresa Huyen is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with extensive experience in both hospital-based and outpatient care, guided by a patient-centered, holistic approach rooted in compassion and evidence-based medicine. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. Elizabeth in Ohio, receiving multiple honors for clinical excellence, teaching, and humanism. With over 15 years as a hospitalist and additional leadership experience as Founder and Medical Director of a primary care practice in Florida, she now proudly serves patients at GRMC, supporting high-quality, accessible care for the island community.
Dr. Theresa Huyen is board-certified Internal Medicine physician with broad experience in both hospital-based and outpatient care. She provides patient-centered care guided by holistic approach, careful listening, clear communication, and compassion, while adhering to current evidence-based standards of care.
Dr. Huyen earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Internal Medicine Residency Program in Youngstown, Ohio, where she received honors recognizing clinical excellence and dedication to education, including Medical Student Teacher of the Year, Dr. Harcharan Singh Award for Humanism in Medicine, and Outstanding Clinic Resident of the Year.
Dr. Huyen provided more than 15 yrs Hospitalist services through Sound Physicians and HNI Healthcare, delivering high-acuity inpatient care at AdventHealth Palm Coast, AdventHealth Parkway, and Florida Hospital New Smyrna.
In addition to hospital medicine, Dr. Huyen brings extensive outpatient and leadership experience. She was the Founder and Medical Director of Total Care Adult Medicine in Florida where she led clinical operations, supported provider development and education, provide primary care services and strengthened patient care processes.
Currently at Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC), Dr. Huyen is proud to serve patients across Guam and its surrounding regions, supporting GRMC’s mission to deliver high-quality, accessible healthcare close to home.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Huyen enjoys relaxed conversations over coffee, cultural studies, hiking and playing tennis.
