Dr. Elizabeth Tan-Chiu is a Hematologist-Oncologist who has been practicing medicine for over 30 years since earning her medical degree at Far Eastern University in Manila. She did her Categorical Internal Medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts Health Care – Memorial in Worcester. She finished a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Tan-Chiu worked as a a Hematologist-Oncologist at the Erie Veterans Hospital. She served as the Associate Director of Medical Oversight at the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project in Pittsburgh. She moved to Florida and became the Associate Director of Cancer Research Network. She also worked as a Medical Oncologist at Charles Vogel M.D. Physician Associates. In 2006, Dr. Tan-Chiu founded Florida Cancer Care and the Florida Cancer Research Institute until 2018. Afterwards, she practiced as locum tenens in Florida and California. She worked for Cleveland Clinic Vero Beach prior to coming to Guam Regional Medical City’s Cancer Care Center.
Dr. Tan-Chiu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine for Medical Oncology. She is also member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians. She has authored or been a contributing team member on dozens of publications, focused on the treatment of cancer.
Dr. Tan-Chiu enjoys yoga, swimming, reading, cooking and gardening. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Tagalog.
