Dr. Sue Xue Ming, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist with extensive training in both adult and pediatric neurology. With a career spanning over two decades, including advanced training at Johns Hopkins University, she has developed deep expertise in neurological and sleep disorders. Dr. Sue Xue Ming, MD, PhD, is a highly accomplished, board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist with more than two decades of experience caring for patients across the lifespan. She began her medical journey by earning a Bachelor of Medicine from Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University) in China and later completed her PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where her research focused on cholinergic receptor subtypes in an animal model of Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Ming pursued a pediatric internship and residency at the State University of New York-Upstate Medical Center, followed by neurology residency and pediatric neurology fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University. She later earned a fellowship in Sleep Medicine through JFK Medical School and Hackensack Meridian Health. Throughout her training and clinical career, Dr. Ming developed a deep commitment to advancing neurological care through both patient-centered practice and groundbreaking research.

 

As a previous professor of neurosciences at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and an attending physician at the University Hospital in Newark since 1997, Dr. Ming has provided neurological care to patients from infancy through adulthood. She has also served as Director of The Autism Center, where she led multidisciplinary efforts in early diagnosis, treatment planning, and research for children on the autism spectrum. Her expertise has extended to consulting and attending roles across numerous prestigious institutions, including JFK Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Saint Peter’s University Hospital, and Hackensack Hospital.

Dr. Ming brings her extensive training, compassionate care, and a legacy of academic excellence to the island community. She is committed to delivering comprehensive, personalized care to patients of all ages and continuing her mission to blend science, empathy, and innovation in neurology.
