Internal Medicine

Ria Arlina C. Calata, M.D.

Dr. Calata is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and licensed to practice in Guam and Florida. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of Society of Hospital Medicine.

Biography

Dr. Ria Arlina Calata is originally from the Philippines where she studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.  She completed her Internship, Internal Medicine Residency, and Pulmonary and Critical Fellowship all at the University of Santo Tomas. In 2010, Dr. Calata left her home country for Baltimore, Maryland, to begin an Internal Medicine Residency at St. Agnes Hospital, which she completed in 2013. The doctor continued working  as a primary care physician and hospitalist at St. Agnes Hospital  and Baltimore Medical System until 2015, during which, she also served as a  member of the AGCME Teaching Faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Agnes.

Dr. Calata continued her career in medicine under the sunny skies of Florida.  She became part of the Largo Physicians Group, LLC, and practiced as one of the primary care physicians of the Internal Medicine Associates of Plant City . She also temporarily served as an Assistant Member of the Internal and Hospital Medicine Program at the H Lee Moffit Cancer Center.

Dr. Calata became the Resident Clinic Director of Brandon Regional Hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency Training Program and Associate Program Director in Brandon, Florida from 2015 to 2016.  She then transitioned as hospitalist at Brandon Regional Hospital and at the same time, became a core teaching faculty for the medical residents.  Dr. Calata left Florida in 2020 and still lives under sunny skies, now in Guam at GRMC as an Hospitalist/Internal Medicine physician.
