Dr. Robert Palusinski is originally from Poland, where he earned both his medical degree and Ph.D at the University School of Medicine in Lublin. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. He finished a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. Dr. Palusinski completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas, Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine in Houston, where he was also the Senior Research Assistant for the Department of Neurology.
Dr. Palusinski is both a skilled cardiologist and a professor. He taught as an Assistant, then Assistant Professor at his alma mater, University School of Medicine in Poland. In 2000, he moved to Texas to begin his postdoctoral fellowship, which included molecular biology research in the fields of immunology and cardiology. He worked at Covenant Medical Center, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Iowa as a general cardiologist. Dr. Palusinski moved on to Mercy Cardiology Associated, Centura Health in Colorado before joining GRMC.
In his career, Dr. Palusinski has participated in 32 peer-reviewed publications and presented at nearly 70 medical symposiums and conferences. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine for Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Palusinski is a member of both the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He has professional associations with the American Heart Association and the International Society of Cellular Therapy.
When not caring for patients or instructing students, Dr. Palusinski likes to ski, sail and travel the world. He is fluent in Polish, Russian, and English.
