Dr. Howard Lee is a board-certified nephrologist with extensive experience in kidney care, dialysis, chronic kidney disease management, and healthcare quality improvement. He has held several clinical and leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center and has also been involved in medical education and health care administration.
Dr. Howard Lee is a board-certified nephrologist with extensive experience in kidney care, dialysis, chronic kidney disease management, and healthcare quality improvement.
Dr. Lee earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in California. He then completed a completed his Internal Medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and later completed his Nephrology fellowship at MCP- ahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he served as Chief Fellow during his final year. Recognizing the current needs of high quality but affordable and accessible healthcare environment, he later pursued a master’s degree in healthcare business administration.
Dr. Lee has held several leadership roles in nephrology and hospital administration at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center. He previously served as Chief of Service for Nephrology, where he helped develop programs to improve care in chronic kidney disease and dialysis needs. He also served as Director of Acute Inpatient Hemodialysis and as Physician Lead for the Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force where he implemented renal quality management programand Utilization management. He later expanded his role to support medical subspecialty and as the director of utilization supporting medical center operations and quality of care. He has a special interest in facilitating quality care incorporating informatics and AI.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lee have been actively participating in medical education, He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine. In addition, he also served on the Review Board for Network 18, supporting dialysis care in Southern California under Medicare.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Lee enjoys travel and physical fitness and good food.
