Biography

Dr. Maheswara “Mahesh” Golla is an interventional cardiologist, who joined GRMC in September 2023. He was born and raised in India, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Andhra Medical College in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India in 2011.

Dr. Golla’s journey in the USA began when he moved to the country to pursue his medical education. As a dedicated medical student, he embarked on clinical rotations at the University of North Carolina (UNC) school of medicine, Chapel Hill. Building on his academic achievements, in 2012, Dr. Golla continued to contribute to the medical field by volunteering as a cardiology clinical research volunteer at the UNC school of medicine. In 2013, Dr. Golla moved to Massachusetts and trained at the St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston—completing his residency in Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine and a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Golla holds several board certifications, which include the American Board of Endovascular Interventions (ABEI), American Board of Vascular Medicine (ABVM), Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) – Interventional Cardiology, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) – Cardiovascular Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) – Internal Medicine, Certification Board  of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC), Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT), and the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE). He currently holds fellowship with the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), and the Society of Vascular Medicine (FVSM).

Dr. Golla’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident through his prolific authorship of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributions to several book chapters.

When Dr. Golla isn’t attending to patients, he enjoys playing badminton, cricket, watching movies and playing with his kids.
