Dr. Ann S. Fenton, MD, MPH, FACS, brings a wealth of expertise and experience in urological surgery to Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC). With a diverse educational background including studies in Urology at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University, Dr. Fenton has honed her skills across various medical settings. She has served as Founder and Partner at Guam Urology, LLC, and contributed significantly to healthcare on Guam through roles at Guam Memorial Hospital Authority and GRMC itself. Her leadership as Chief of Medical Staff at Andersen AFB Medical Clinic underscores her commitment to enhancing medical services in the region.

Throughout her career, Dr. Fenton has held pivotal roles at military medical facilities such as Langley Airforce Base and Balad Air Force Theater Hospital, where she provided critical urological care. Her dedication extends beyond clinical practice; she is also an Assistant Professor of Urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, imparting her knowledge to future generations of medical professionals. Outside of medicine, Dr. Fenton enjoys running and spending time with her two children, reflecting her balanced approach to life and work.

REFERALS ARE WELCOME FOR THE EVALUATION, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT OF:

Symptoms:

  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs) that are recurrent or difficult to treat.
  • Blood in the urine (hematuria).
  • Painful urination (dysuria) or urinary urgency and frequency.
  • Difficulty starting or maintaining urination.
  • Erectile dysfunction or other sexual health concerns
  • Sterilization via vasectomy
  • Testicular pain or swelling.
  • Kidney and ureteral stones or symptoms like flank pain

Diagnosis:

  • Physical Examination: Assessing genital and urinary tract.
  • Urinalysis and Culture: Identifying infections or abnormalities.
  • Imaging Studies: Ultrasound, CT scan, or MRI for kidney stones, tumors and lesions.
  • Endoscopy of the Genito-urinary system
  • Biopsy: To diagnose conditions like prostate cancer, bladder cancer and penile cancer.

Treatment:

  • Medication: Antibiotics for UTIs, medications for erectile dysfunction.
  • Lifestyle Changes: Dietary modifications for kidney stones, pelvic floor exercises for incontinence.
  • Minimally Invasive Procedures: Lithotripsy for kidney stones, cystoscopy for urinary tract issues.
  • Surgery: Removal of kidney stones, prostatectomy for prostate issues.
  • Follow-Up Care: Monitoring and management of chronic conditions like enlarged prostate or recurring UTIs, and genito-urinary malignancies.
