
Dawn Ostberg is a Family Nurse Practitioner and retired U.S. Army Captain with over 30 years of combined military and healthcare experience. She holds a Master of Science with concentration on Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico. At GRMC, Dawn currently serves as a Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedic Surgery, delivering specialized care alongside the surgical team. Her career spans urgent care, primary care, and military medicine, with a strong foundation in leadership, patient education, and trauma-informed care.
Dawn Ostberg is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2020, with a distinguished background in both military and civilian healthcare. A retired U.S. Army Captain, Dawn brings over three decades of comprehensive clinical, operational, and leadership experience to her current role in orthopedic surgery at GRMC.
She holds a Master of Science with concentration on Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico. Her extensive military career included roles such as Special Operations Medic Course Instructor, Charge Nurse in post-anesthesia and critical care units, and Staff Nurse in maternal and medical-surgical departments. Her expertise in delivering care in complex and high-stakes environments has deeply informed her current clinical practice.
Following her transition into civilian medicine, Dawn practiced in both urgent and primary care settings, including FHP Urgent Care and IHP Medical Group in Guam. Now at GRMC, she works closely with orthopedic surgeons to assess, manage, and support patients undergoing joint, and trauma-related procedures—providing both pre- and post-operative care and patient education.
Outside of her professional duties, she loves traveling and diving in her spare time and is a SCUBA Divemaster.
