Dr. Acuna has 25 years of clinical healthcare experience and is certified by the American College of Wound Healing for Hyperbaric Medicine and board certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Wound Management.
Dr. Edna Acuna is GRMC’s Wound Care Specialist and Hyperbaric Medicine Physician. She has the experience and advanced tools to help heal the life-threatening wounds diabetics often suffer from. Dr. Acuna has two hyperbaric chambers in GRMC’s Wound Care Department which employ 100% pure oxygen, under pressure, to speed the healing process.
Dr. Acuna earned her MD at Far Eastern University in Manila, and completed her Internship and Residency in Anesthesia, which was her primary specialty, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Acuna later earned a Fellowship in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine and launched a practice in that specialty for 7 years before moving to Guam in 2012.
Dr. Acuna has 25 years of clinical healthcare experience and is certified by the American College of Wound Healing for Hyperbaric Medicine and board certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Wound Management. She is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, Texas Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, Guam Medical Association and Guam Medical Society.
