Erik Quintero is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a diverse clinical background spanning hospital medicine, acute and critical care, family practice, preventive care, wound care, and nursing. His professional experience includes hospitalist and nocturnist care, home health assessments, internal medicine, progressive and intensive care nursing, and cardiovascular care. Quintero brings a multidisciplinary perspective to patient care developed through years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, and home-based healthcare settings.
Erik Quintero is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a diverse healthcare background that includes family medicine, hospital care, preventive health, critical care, and chronic disease management. His experience working in hospitals, clinics, and home-based care settings has given him a well-rounded approach to caring for patients with a variety of health needs.
Quintero completed postgraduate education in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program at Miami Regional University, further expanding his training in the care of adults with acute and complex medical conditions. He previously earned a Master of Science in Nursing through the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Miami Regional University in 2020 and an Associate of Science in Nursing from the University of the Sacred Heart in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2017. Quintero began his medical education in Cuba, earning a Doctor of Science in Medicine from the Higher Institute of Medicine of Havana in 2005.
Throughout his career, Quintero has cared for patients in a variety of healthcare settings. As a Nurse Practitioner, he has worked with hospitalist teams providing care to patients who are admitted to the hospital, as well as in outpatient and home-based settings. His experience includes evaluating patients, managing acute and chronic conditions, providing preventive care, and helping coordinate treatment plans.
His clinical background also includes cardiovascular and critical care nursing, including experience in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and cardiac catheterization care. He has also worked in wound care, hospice admissions, home health, and preventive health assessments.
This broad experience allows Quintero to approach patient care from multiple perspectives. He places an emphasis on careful assessment, disease prevention and management, symptom relief, communication, and collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
At GRMC, Quintero brings years of experience caring for patients with both routine and complex medical needs. As a Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine, he is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care and helping patients understand and manage their health.
Outside of his professional duties, Quintero enjoys outdoor fishing, boating, and hiking.
