Biography

Sangjung Kim earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he specialized in advanced anesthesia management, airway techniques, and perioperative care. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Franklin University and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Daejeon Science and Technology University in South Korea.

With a career spanning several countries and healthcare systems, Sangjung brings a unique blend of adaptability, technical precision, and cultural understanding to his anesthesia practice. He began his nursing career at Seoul National University Hospital, one of South Korea’s leading tertiary care centers, before expanding his international experience at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in the United Arab Emirates. These roles provided him with a strong foundation in acute and critical care nursing in high-demand hospital environments.

After relocating to the United States, he served at top-tier medical institutions, including Montefiore Health System, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, and Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. His extensive ICU experience, particularly in Cardiac and Medical Intensive Care Units, honed his expertise in managing critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and advanced monitoring—skills that now define his anesthesia practice.

A former sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army, Sangjung brings discipline, resilience, and focus to his work in anesthesia. His journey—from Seoul to New York to Guam—reflects his dedication to lifelong learning and his mission to deliver compassionate, precise, and globally informed anesthesia care as part of GRMC’s outstanding medical teams.

Outside of work, Sangjung enjoys scuba diving.
