Dr. Hale is a Neurologist and Sleep Specialist with unique ties to Guam. His grandfather was a Liberator and his parents first met here in 1977 when his father served in the Navy and his mother was teaching music at Barrigada Junior High. “I grew up hearing about the beauty of the island and desired to give back to the people of Guam who had shown such kindness to my parents.”
Dr. Hale earned his medical degree at California’s Loma Linda University and he went on to complete an Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology Residency at Wake Forest University’s Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He finished a Sleep Fellowship at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
Before coming to Guam in 2014, Dr. Hale spent seven years practicing medicine at various missions in less fortunate communities in Guatemala, Mexico, Belize and Venezuela. He has performed clinical research on the use of ultrasound for neuromuscular disorders of the diaphragm and has done research on the alignment of sleep with our internal circadian clocks.
Dr. Hale is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and American Board of Neurology and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). He is licensed to practice in Guam and Oregon.
