Dr. Sanchez is a pediatrician, certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a sub-specialty in Hematology and Oncology. Her practice includes the diagnosis, treatment and management of hematological disorders and malignancies in children and adolescents.
She comes to Guam from Florida where she worked with Pediatric Associates of South Florida and served her residency at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Sanchez has published a study on Pediatric Blood Cancer about Newborn screening for hemoglobinopathies in premature infants as well as a study about the ethical aspects in decision making at the end of life in children and adolescents with cancer. She is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the International Society of Hospice and Palliative Care.
