Dr. Sanchez is a pediatrician whose practice includes the diagnosis, treatment and management of hematological disorders and malignancies in children and adolescents.
Dr. Sanchez received her medical degree at the Universidad del Valle in Colombia and finished her Residency in Pediatrics at the University of Florida’s Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. She completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Prior to coming to GRMC, Dr. Sanchez worked at Pediatric Associates of South Florida.
Dr. Sanchez was part of a group who published a study in Pediatric Blood & Cancer, titled “Increased prevalence of false positive hemoglobinopathy newborn screening in premature infants.” She also participated in the study, “Ethical decision making about end-of-life care issues by pediatric oncologists in economically diverse settings,” which was published in the Journal of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
She is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the International Society of Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Sanchez is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a sub-specialty in Hematology and Oncology.
